I have a foot injury need tips on recovery?

I pulled the muscle on the bottom of your foot where it's kind of like a line that goes to your big toe. The sides of my feet hurt too. I'm a long distance runner and that's how I got injured in the first place. I can't see my physician for a while so I was wondering what kind of treatment I can do on my own.(icing etc.) Thanks.

I would ice it for liike 30 minutes per day. Also move it every once in a while gently so you keep the muscle

Alternate heat and ice for muscle injuries. While the ice helps with swelling, the heat increases circulation which helps heal the muscle. You can take muscle relaxers like Skelaxin and anti-inflammatory meds like Aleve (aka Naproxin). Stay off it as much as possible and I would suggest you give it a good week before attempting to run again. Good luck.

I have the same thing right now. I'm a long distance runner too and I don't think I'll be able to get in another race before the end of the cross country season. =(

What I'm doing right now is not running. Biking a little for excersize. I don't really ice I usually forget, but when I have the chance to I do.

Try the R.I.C.E treatment

Rest
Ice
Compression
Elevate
