Should you strap a foot injury? |
foot very swollen caused by heavy knock to top of foot, don't think broken has toe movement & can walk on it though very painful. You should really get this checked out at A&E. Tarsal and metatarsal fractures are common following the type of injury you describe and toe movement does not exclude a fracture. If it is fractured, not getting it treated properly at this stage can lead to chronic problems later. All the best. Better get it seen to dude, may be something else happened to it?..... best to rest it for awhile if you can strapping might help probably some deep bruising, apply an ice pack to the top of the foot and get it x rayed to be sure nothing is broken before strapping it, try an anti inflammatory such as ibuprofen for the pain and get to the ER I would strap it, not too tight though. I had a bad sprained ankle, and when it was strapped, it felt so much better. Strapping it will immobilize the injury, and stop it get worse, and make it less painful You should get an xray. Metatarsal fractures are common from the type of trauma you have described. In the meantime by all means if it eases the pain strap your foot and take anti inflammatories. |
