What are the health problems attached with flat-foot? |
What are the health problems attached with flat-foot? Flat feet, pes planus, can be the root cause of low back problems. There are two types, the first is a person who has an arch when the foot is lifted off the floor, but the arch flattens as soon as weight is placed on the foot. This is called a functional flat foot. The second is a rigid flat foot. This foot is flat all the time no matter what. If you have the functional type I recommend a good pair of shoe orthotics to support the arch. For the rigid type find a comfortable shoe to wear. A flat foot may increase the chance of developing heel spurs or nerve pains in the toes. As far as I know there shouldn't be any health problems except maybe you will have problem with running of walking long distance. none that i know of, my sisters feet are flat and shes 28 and still healthy. I've had flat feet all my life and have had absolutely no problems at all. Well, sometimes it's hard to find trendy shoes that fit perfectly, but otherwise, none. It called...'duck flipper'...lol It may throw off the alignment of the rest of the bones, especially the spine, knees, and hips. Over-pronating feet can be adjusted with orthotics (expensive) or a product like superfeet. The added support makes a big difference! |
