Foot Surgery - Corn Removal? |
I spent some time in Iraq when I served in the Air Force and from wearing those combat boots, I've developed corns on a five of my toes, on just one of my feet, the skin gets really thick and hard quickly no matter how often I get a pedicure. I thought it was athletes foot from taking showers in public stalls, but I've tried every over the counter treatment possible, nothing has worked yet. i cant comment on the surgery aspect, but you can also try a less expensive treatment first- duct tape!!! before you laugh, it reduces friction and softens the skin, so at the end of the day when you remove it you can slough off more of the offending material. i'm totally gonna try it! Report It A resident where I work just had the surgery last week. Wearing problem shoes that don't fit well definitely exacerbate the problem. You may want to not only have the corrective surgery, but find a place where professional shoe fitters work with you. They can take a molding of your feet & fit you with special orthotics that work to prevent the problem. |
