My mother claims feet detox at a health clinic actually works for her? Is it a scam, can someone explain? i've actually seen these products on the market and it was once quite popular. it supposedly draws out the toxin from the body by putting a patch on the feet and soacking it, and the toxin are actually visible as the water turns dark. in my opinion, it is a scam. if toxins are that easily drawn out from the body, we wouldn't be facing so many health problems, detoxing programmes wouldn't be around, etc. the change in colour of the water may very well be due to the patch. i believe that if you just soak the patch in the water, the water itself will turn colour too. it's all in the mind, when you're doing the detoxing and witness the "toxin" being drawn out, you would feel believe the results and feel good inside. hope my answer helped. I'm with LC on this one--foot detox is one part high-school chemistry and one part salesmanship. I've no doubt that your mother felt better, though. Wouldn't you if you suddenly went from middle-aged mother to pampered client getting foot rubs and fancy teas? some places scam you with these.. they put ur foot into a foot bath and the bacteria on the foot will change the color of the mixture so u feel like toxins are comming out. but if you can find a reputable place, it can def. help with dextoxing the body. |
