25 y/o F w/ foot / ankle swelling and pins / needles w/ cramps in my left leg out of nowhere every few days?!?

The leg cramping began a few weeks ago and then about a week ago my left foot started swelling up combined with pins and needles / cramping of the left leg all the way up to my hip. Most of the leg cramping is in the calf. My 47 year old mother experiences the same thing, except she also gets a lump across the back of her left calf when she is experiencing the pain.

The swelling does not hurt, it's just a very uncomfortable feeling like my skin is going to split and I can feel the liquid in my foot *jiggle* when I walk. I am not overweight and in otherwise good health. The pins and needles in the leg is extremely painful, worse than the cramping itself.

Any ideas? I tried finding something on the net, but nothing specific enough.

**right now I'm laying in my bed on my laptop and there is very light numbness in the ankle and top of the foot and tips of toes it is like that almost all the time. No pain though, just a little tingle.

It is a sign of poor blood circulation. You can relieve it a little bit by laying on your bed put 2 pillows under your feet and wiggle them back and forth, try sleeping with your feet as high as you can comfortably, but go see a;podiatrist, he will be able to give you more exercises or medicine to help you out.

peace
