Does Canada's health care system vary from province to province? |
I recently hurt my foot and I'm thinking it might be broken, so I want to go to the hospital to get it checked out. My only concern is that I'm currently living (as a student) in Ontario, but my health care card is from New Brunswick (where I'm from and often return for holidays/breaks). So my question is: will I be covered here in Ontario with my New Brunswick health care card? Or am I only covered within my home province? Normally, any Canadian with health insurance from one province use it in any other province as long as he doesn't live there. It's a little bit more complicated for students, but you are still covered. You might just have to send them some proof of enrollment. |
