I broke my leg, foot, and ankle when I 12, I was in traction and had 3 pressure sores develop on my heel.?

The problem is I'm now 50 and have had problems with the tissue breaking down. It's getting to the point that there is pain most time, and is very difficult healing. Are there any foot reconstruction or other options besides amputation? I've always been active and in good health.

As Titan Buck suggested, diabetes is a real possibility and you should be checked by a doctor and podiatrist regularly. Your previous injury as a child classes you as an 'at risk patient' as your feet may become infected or undergo further deformity with little notice.
If your pressure sores are not healing, there is an underlying cause that must be investigated (eg: neurological, vascular, musculoskeletal, dermatological etc..) A podiatrist can isolate the cause and discuss further treatment options with you. This will include methods of dressing the wounds, pain management and padding the foot to redistribute peak pressures.
Amputation is a last resort option when the tissue becomes no longer viable for repair.

As a side note, I am sure gwf2's "energy flow" is fine (I don't usually comment on these things but i checked out that site and IMHO any "medical" website with a picture of outer-space on its home page should be avoided... especially when they are charging $333 for consults/seminars with no offer of scientific evidence of mechanisms of action other than miraculous "healing testimonials" and made up buzz words)

You need to see a podiatrist or orthopedic surgeon. They would have some advice, even if it were only to recommend special shoe gear.

Have you been checked for Diabetes yet? Sometimes that can cause trouble w/ sores in the extremities. Also consider finding a Reiki or Reconnective healing practitioner in your area. To find a Reconnective healing practitioner, check out the directory on www.thereconnection.com. It is possible that the energy systems are disturbed in your feet due to the injury. The healing sessions can help restore proper flow.
