Going barefoot for school health check-ups? |
Sometimes at my school health check-ups they make you take off your shoes and socks somewhere very far away and they make you walk around he dirty floor with glass even though they aren't taking your height and weight or anything. Sometimes the nurses ask to see the soles of your feet too! Some of my friends can't stand it. Does anyone know why? Sometimes they still ask us to take off our shoes and socks even though they are not gonna check them. I don't understand why. Can't we just leave them on? I seriously doubt there is any glass on the floor. Really, you don't have to be so afraid to get hurt or sick from going barefoot for a few steps, feet are not gross or dirty or dangerous but are in fact a lot tougher than many people think! It's a sad thing that so many people believe that going barefoot is such a big deal, that you'll end up with your foot cut or pick up some terrible disease when putting your foot down for a bit. I've been barefoot *everywhere* for the past ten years, including outdoors, including train stations and many other places where there really is glass laying around, and I have NEVER cut my feet. Your feet aren't made of tissue paper. A doctor should see your entire naked body, should see your posture, see if you have flat feet or crooked toes. It's not going to hurt you to go barefoot for checkups. If you feel that you are in danger, you can refuse to remove your shoes. Thats horrible i would just object to that and point out they have glass on the floor which shouldn't be their in the first place. If they want to see the soles of your feet then thats why you have to take off your shoes. I can't think of any major reasons why though maybe they are looking for verrucas and less likely but sometimes people selfharm around their ankles cos it can't be seen but i doubt thats why they are looking. Walking round in bare feet is more likely to spread the verrucas though :S they are not suppose to be doing that to the kids, that would be abuse. |
