Are there any health benefits through practicing seiza?

Seiza is a traditional formal way of sitting in Japan, which is a commonly used sitting posture. It is a posture of respect and formality. Seiza also is defined as 鈥渃orrect, calm sitting,鈥?a kneeling posture associated with Japanese meditative forms.
many say that this posture helps in digestion but is this true?
and does this posture serves significant role in yoga ie relaxing oneself?
does this posture also help in straightening the back bone?
does practicing seiza have health benefits??? or does it bring only harm to the body by blocking the blood circulation in the legs and feet?
i myself has just started doing this posture but heard that there are advantages and disadvantages doing this so im confused if i should actually continue...
please try to answer my question and give me some evidences (eg. websites) of good or bad about it, thanks =)

Yes, seiza can be used as a yoga practice.
By doing seiza, your lower half of the body gets pressured and it easily blocks the blood circulation. On the other hand, because all the pressure goes to the lower half of the body, upper half of your body, especially your shoulder and head will be relaxed. It's considered it makes your brain very refreshed and calm, which helps you think about things more clearly and smoothly. It helps you concentrate on your studies, work, just anything that needs your brain to work well.
It takes time to get used to do seiza and master the very right way of sitting seiza. During this process, the lower half of your body will be trained and be stronger. However, if you practice seiza in a wrong way and keep on doing it, you might have a problem with your legs and feet because of the too much of a pressure.
In Japan, Seiza is considered the most beautiful way of sitting. Seiza is the only way of sitting when women wear kimonos by the way...

I understand that you are confused. I was even confused while I was looking for some info about seiza. However, I think it has good benefits for your body. As long as you do seiza in the very right way, it should be fine.

I think if you do this on a hard surface, you can have knee stress. However, if you use a cushion, like a zabuton, and a bench made for seiza, I think it is probably more beneficial than not.

Benefits, i know of one, is better digestion of your food

I think seiza helps build backbone muscle.
