Feet and hands falling asleep all the time!?

Lately my feet have been going numb for no apparent reason, falling asleep. I usually don't notice it right away unless I go to get up, or until the blood starts flowing again and I get that tingling feeling. It has also happened to my hand and fingers a couple times, but not as often.

This has been happening for about 2 weeks now. It happens roughly 3 times a day or more.

I do have the blood clotting disorder Factor V Leiden. Could it be anything to do with that? If not what COULD be the possible problem?

I am a 20 yr old female (if that helps any)

We need a doctor on this one!

I have bits of cartilage floating around in both my knees which often gives a similar symptom - everything below the knees goes numb for a long time.

After reading up a bit about your blood clotting disorder, it does sound like it is linked. It sounds as though your veins can clot excessively, and if it's bad enough it can lead to DVT. One way of combatting DVT is to walk around regularly and perform exercises ... are we to imagine that you could employ the same techniques to help remedy your symptoms? Give it a try!

Symptoms of diabetes

my daughter and i have the same problems, and what we have are back injuries. i have two herniated disks in my lower back and two in my neck. i also have carpal tunnel syndrome so i wake up in the morning with numb fingers usually the thumbs, index, and middle fingers. all these things are do to nerve damage and pressed nerves in the spinal cord.

you should definitely see an orthopedic doctor, you may have some sort of back injury which can show up suddenly of gradually

best of luck,
