Can one diagnosis of Nerve Damage, be related to a recent diagnosis? |
Last year in early January, my Eye Doctor diagnosed me with Nerve Damage and has been testing me regularly for it's advancement. On July 9, 2006 I sprained my right foot, in a few days it will be six months I am still wearing a Boot (AIR CAST) and still under going Physical Therapy. My Orthopdic recently diagnosed me with Complexity Sympathetic Nerve Disorder (or something like that) . He said in the future if I injure myself that surgical blocks will be needed to aid healing. Do I need to inform both of my doctors of their individual diagnosis, both pertainig to NERVE DAMAGE/ DISORDER. Or is this just a coincidence. It's always important that all your doctors know about what you're being treated for. I would request a printed record from each of your doctors to give to the other. If you have it in writing there is less chance for confusion. Since you are not a medical person (I assume) it is best that you allow the doctors to communicate using their own medical terminology. Another reason for both of them to know what is happening with you is the chance of over medication. Plus, if your medical conditions are somehow related to each other, they need to know the whole story. yes there is probably good reason to tell both Dr's. Best wishes to you. |
