My friend's 2 year old daughter has severe, multiple allergies. What do you know about Eosonophilic Disease?

Kel's daughter has such severe allergies that she is barely able to eat two or three foods at a time. She suffers from environmental allergies, too and this makes socialising extremely difficult. Every day is a learning curve as new allergies arise. With two other parents in a similar situation, Kel has set up an on-line support group at www.theeds.co.uk (TEDS) and is currently applying for charitable status to meet the growing needs of members resulting from increasing awareness. Diagnosis and support for this condition - Eosonophilic Disease - is so difficult to find in the UK. The families live with constant fear for the safety of their child, concern for their child's wellbeing and a feeling of hopelessness when their child is ill and in pain. Do you know anyone who is or has been in the same position, who can contribute information and advice, either based on their own experience or from a medical point of view? I would like to hear your stories and make contact with you. Thanks.

Treatment of eosinophil associated gastrointestinal disorders:

Now what? Is there a cure?

The following information is available in PDF format - Treatment.pdf

Treatment of eosinophilic disorders will vary based on the location of the eosinophils, severity of symptoms, and other medical problems the child / adult may have. In most cases, there is no 鈥榗ure鈥?but dietary measures and medications can significantly improve symptoms and control the underlying eosinophilic disease. Your doctor will help guide you through the various treatment options to find a therapy that is best for you and your family. This review is intended solely to provide information on currently available therapies and is not a substitute for your physician鈥檚 advice.

A food allergy is an immune system response to a food that the body mistakenly believes is harmful. To learn more about food allergy, go to Frequently Asked Questions.

Although an individual could be allergic to any food, such as fruits, vegetables, and meats, there are eight foods that account for 90% of all food-allergic reactions. These are: milk, egg, peanut, tree nut (walnut, cashew, etc.), fish, shellfish, soy, and wheat.

Anaphylaxis is a sudden, severe, potentially fatal, systemic allergic reaction that can involve various areas of the body (such as the skin, respiratory tract, gastrointestinal tract, and cardiovascular system).

Eosoniphils are part of the immune system. Along with macrophages and basophils. Sounds like an autoimmune disorder. Link below may give some insight.
