Do you think we should ban anything imported from China ASAP?

Due to lack of Safty from food and products from China, I think People should Ban any import from China for a short period. And there Goverment should investate more offen to check for the quality control. Yes, there are too many company in China but I don't think is an excus for not able to control for people's Health and Safety.....

Just to inform you that there are many more that USA news didn't cover up, because lots of news came from Chinese media.........

Here are some food that lots of people didn't know also have problem.

Like: Rice, Dry Fruit, Dry Vegi, Dry Seafood, Can food, ... etc.

Actually, we don't.... there's really only a very small percentage of things coming out of China (all from bad companies with no concern for other people) that actually have contaminated products.
I've done a LOT of research on this since the news broke, and only about 1% of the food/vitamin companies in China had contaminated products, plus most of those companies were so small they were literally making things out of someone's basement or someone's garage. They actually stood to make a lot of money by contaminating those products, and aparently felt it was worth it (as deplorable as that is).
The other 99% of the companies weren't contaminated, and most of the large companies (and all the companies in China have been investigated since the news broke) are actually good quality and very clean facilities. Some of my coworkers have actually visited China recently and said that in general, it's a very clean country.... there are just some people that take advantage of the lax laws.

All we really need to do is just increase the quality control issues.... and that's exactly what the FDA has done (including the FDA within China).
But you know what they say... a few bad apples spoil the bunch.

The worst part out of all of this is that people are only looking at what little the media is showing without realizing what that means. The news only shows things that are unusual. They only show the car crashes and the people that have been shot.... they don't mention how many people drove WITHOUT crashing, or how many people had a good day and stayed healthy.
A lot of this has just been blown out of proportion when you actually look at all the facts and details instead of the emotions involved in sick animals and lead paint (as horrible as those few things have been, of course).

Personally NOTHING I purchase will be from China if there is any way for me to know about it. I am reading labels and checking sources.

In a perfect world scenario, yours is a perfect answer to China's inmoral approach to commerce. But this is not a perfect world and those who export to China will be against blocking as it can backfire on them. And the government will support them and not those who are affected by China's illegal actions.

instead of banning Chinese imports, the best option is to give the Chinese government a little pressure on enforcing the laws in terms of production and international tradings.

please don't insult your intelligence by believe "everything from China are harmful."
