Food Poisoning???

Ok, so, yesterday, at lunch (a late lunch for me, about 1pm), I had some steak fingers from a DQ. That night, at around 10pm, my stomach started hurting quite badly, not like a stabbing pain, but like I had been kicked in the gut. The pain is right around my belly-button area, and has not gone away since. This morning, I had Diarrhea, and no blood was present. My stomach really hurts, and I just want to have it stop. The same thing has happened to my dad, who also had the steak fingers. I have not thrown up, but I do feel nauseous. Cool air blowing at my face or my stomach helps some, but not that much. From what I have found on the internet, you will probably need my age and such, so I will put that here. I am a 15 year old Male, and my dad is a 53 year old Male. I have tried several things to make the pain go away, mainly 7-Up, Pepto-Bismol, Crackers, Peppermints, Ginger, and laying down. Can somebody PLEASE help me???

I'd say there is a good chance you do have the pain because of the food in light of the fact that your dad is feeling ill after eating the same thing it sounds alittle late to try throwing up to feel better (you would want to throw up if you feel naueous enough to since the food may be no good and your body would reject it and not want to break it down ) so if you feel like throwing up do so if the pain stays more than tonight say into tomorrow I'd say see a DR or go to the ER ASAP as people have died from food poisioning. Sorry not to scare you but I've had food poisioning a few times and its awful and the symtoms are what you have and others as well but anyway good luck hope you feel better.

It probably is food poisoning but you both need to get to the ER - and don't drive yourselves- call a cab or a relative or a neighbor- and they can drop the both of you off because you will be there for probably at least 24 hours because they will need to do blood tests, give you an IV for fluids so you don't dehydrate and they will make sure it isn't the flu...you probably will be given antibiotics also......get there now........don't wait, your dad can have some serious side effects at his age if he dehydrates.
good luck

Go to the doctor to have a stool sample tested. This will tell you if you have E-coli or food poisoning.

After the results are in, notify the local board of health.

the pain you guys are feeling today could be from the bad food making its way through you systems. If you can keep fluids down it will make elimination faster and less pain full. A cool compress on the neck or for head also works wonders
