Food allergy tests?

I have IBS and want to have a food allergy test done. Does anybody know of anywhere i can have one done. I live in the uk.

A food intolarance test is what i mean.

Don't know about over there but here in the U.S., you would go to an allergist.

They do a little skin prick / scratch test on you. They will inject you on the inner part of your arm quite a few times.. then they will do the same test on your back, kind of scratch you. The bigger the welt that comes up, the more allergic you are to a substance.

It sounds a little creepy, but the tests are not all that bad..

I found out that I am allergic to about everything......lol Well except foods...

Some allergies can be done by blood test, I had this done and food out i was allergic to dust mites, weed, and animal hair. Your best bet if its serious is to look up an immunologist.

I know there is a test for lactose intolerance, but I am not aware that tests for other food intolerances exist, except for celiac disease. For instance, I am very intolerant to poultry. I do not think there is a test for it.
