Food Allergy but i love the food.?

ok so i didnt know i had this allergy until last night i love guacamole i dont eat it alot but last night i had nachos with it my tongue sweeled up ad so did my throat... is there anyway to keep myself from swelling but still eat the food?

ask your doctor..maybe it wasn't the guacamole but something else that triggered the reaction

Find a NAET technician in the area, they can detect and get rid of ALL allergen FOREVER. There are about 8000 trained Doctor in the USA currently.

No, but you can use an epipen if you have an allergy. Consult with your doctor. I am lactose intolerant, but there is no way I will give up cheese!

why would u want to still eat something like this if u found out you have food allergies?

I wouldn't ..it could turn deadly...

:( I know the feeling and it sucks. DO NOT continue eating it. Get an allergy test done to make sure if that is what you had the reaction too. . .it could be something else you ate.
I found out I have a allergy to coconut. . .which is in vegetable oil. . .and in almost everything I love. . .IT SUCKS :(

No you have to stop eating it. If you pretend nothings wrong and you keep on eating it the reaction will get worse

well are u sure that its the guacamole... if it is .... u cant eat that again unless u want to hurt yourself... but you could substitute the ingredients, ( like maybe u only have an allergy with avacados) try making a different dip to eat nachos with! =]

You need to see an allergist to determine which component of the guacamole you are allergic to. Is it the avocado? The lime? One of the spices? A particular pepper? Could it have been something else on the nachos? Could it have been anything else you ate or drank?

Once allergy testing has been completed, you will know what component to avoid and then make your own guacamole without that ingredient. If it's the avocado, there are "guacamole dips" that contain very little avocado and give a similar flavor... but you would need to discuss with your allergist how severe the allergy is and if a small amount would be capable of triggering an allergic reaction: http://cspinet.org/new/200304251.html

You also should carry an Epi-Pen with you at all times in case you ingest a food without realizing it and you have a severe reaction. You got very lucky last night that you didn't stop breathing because swelling of the tongue and throat is one step away from that. The tongue and throat swell, the air passage is cut off and the person is unable to get oxygen.

When you're with friends and family, make sure they know where you carry your Epi-Pen in case of emergency and you are unable to get it out of your pocket in time. Don't mess with this or take it lightly. Folks die from allergic responses every day. There's often no time to call 911 and get help fast enough.

Best to you...

Is your life really worth it? This kind of reaction can turn deadly. Your best bet would be to seek the help of an allergist. You should carry an Epi- Pen and AVOID avocados.

I doubt it is guacamole per se, but probably a single ingredient in what you ate. Because it sounds like you never had this reaction before, I would see an allergy specialist who can isolate this ingredient and then in future you can be careful and avoid it.
Good luck!
