AHHHHHHHH!!!! Can these be the symptoms of a food allergy!??!??!?

I have *severe* allergies to everything: environmental, food, and medication.

To environmental, my symptoms are: itchy eyes, itchy nose, rashes, eczema, the usual.

To medications: hives, trouble breathing, chest pain.

To foods (I have not been tested for these, only going off my symptoms and the doctor agrees): more of an Oral Allergy Syndrome with hives around my mouth, swollen tongue, purple lips, etc.

HOWEVER, last night I ate a type of squash for the first time, and today I feel horrible. Last night, my mother got that "allergic feeling" when I was eating it, but I just ignored it. Today, my itchy tongue and throat have turned into a sore tongue (with little welts on it) and sore throat. Also, my whole body is itchy, my nose is dripping, my nose is itchy, I have a headache, and I just feel horrible and lethargic.

Are these the symptoms of a food allergy? I get frequent sinus infections, but they never start like this and I have no sinus pressure.

Thanks so much!!!!

I'll pick a best answer TODAY!!!!!!!!!!

It is definetely a food allergy, avoid it like the plague!
It's scarey because one day I ate Mushrooms and Stringbeans together, and I thought..."I can't be allergic to THOSE???, go and find out, it was two of my worst allergies, next to wheat and peanuts. Go to an allergist and have them test you for that specific food. They have a food list from A to Z. It's a shame you can't get tested for all the foods, and just avoid them, instead of finding out later.

I have had sensitivities to foods and different environmental things. I go to a naturopath and she tests me to determine what is causing me to react and then gives me the supplements needed to re balance my system and the problem goes away.

I have a page posted as to how she works and there is a link there that will show you Naturopath's that are near to your zip code.

Good luck!

Yes it does sound like an allergy to those foods. Be careful about other foods. Often severe allergies begin with the symptoms/signs that you describe and progress. The worst offenders are peanuts, shellfish. and there may be others. The only way around this is to avoid them. There is no magic supplement that will cure your allergies, but I bet you already realize this.

It could be a food allergey.
