Did I develope a food allergy or is it a bacteria? 25 yo?

Hello, I was wondering if its possible I developed some kind of food allergy - or if its just a bacteria. 1 1/2 weeks ago (Sat) I though I had food poisoning- I had the worst abdominal pain ever I could barely move (it felt like gremlins were in my stomach). I also had terrible diarrhea. it was the worst i've ever experienced & I was pretty scared- couldnt even sleep through the night bc of the symptoms. I was drinking gatorade & tried the BRAT (bananas rice applesause toast) diet for a few days. Thursday I felt terrific! It was great so I started eating normal Fri, Sat, Sun. Then Sunday/Monday I don't have the intense abdominal pain like before, but my stomach does feel a little weird & the diarrhea returns. ug. Definitely not as bad as before, but now I don't know what to do. I thought it was gone bc I felt fine- I even ran a race Sat morning bc I felt so good. I'm a 25 f. Could I have developed an allergy? I'm scared to eat!

sounds like food poisoning. I just had it myself a few weeks ago. Make sure you are not eating the same foods that could have caused it in the first place - that might be why it came back. Either that or your body wasn't rid of the poisoning yet so it needed to flush out again.

Oh quit your whining and get on your normal diet. It was probably some kind of flu bug. After you have the trots it take a while to get back to digesting food normally. give it a few more days before heading to the er.

I would try cutting out specific common allergens and seeing if maybe that has anything to do w/ it. .Like maybe avoid dairy products one day, and maybe wheat products(i know you were on the BRAT diet which does have toast in it but you could be getting reactions only when you eat alot of wheat) etc. you could always get allergy tested if symptoms persist. It could have just been a common bacteria too, so just wait it out and decide where to go from there!

its not an allergy its a bacterial plus amoebic infection u have to consult with Ur Doctor ..and take proper treatment

You could have had the flu, but it is strange the symptoms returned. I think you may want to look into IBS - Irritable Bowel Syndrome. You could have it even though you've never had it before, and it usually happens in women under 30 due to stress and certain foods. Read more about it and see if it sounds like you :) Good luck!
