Can you develop an allergy to a food by eating it too much like Dr. Schwarzbein says?

In her book (The Schwarzbein Principle) she says that we should rotate our foods, obviously to get a wide range of nutrients, but also to avoid developing food allergies.

Its right. You should rotate your meals every day or so. Not only will you get vitamins, it will also be something different every day!

It is true that we should rotate our foods, because not all nutrients are in a particular diet. But in my opinion, food allergy may not be developed. Allergies happens when our body mistakenly identified substances in our body as 'intruder'.
When you have allergy on that food, you have it, and if you don't, basically you are not allergic to that particular food.
For example, you don't develop allergy to bread by eating it everyday!

While I agree that it is good to eat a wide variety of foods (for nutritional purposes), Dr. Schwarzbein is a loon if she thinks that eating foods causes allergies to them. She provides no evidence for that finding, just her "gut" telling her. Puhlease, what some people will write in order to sell books!
