Food allergy or intolerance?

i ate some tamarind paste with salt on it and twice, it has upset my stomach very badly resulting in bloating and, ya know eveything else ... i know tamarind is a legume.....possible food interalnce

Avoid any food that rubs you on the wrong side, food allergies can be fatal and if not you could spend a lot in treatment, often it is best to go cautiosly once you've identified some level of intolerance the first time, the second bloating is indicative of increasing intolerance, since you dont know what made you bloated but suspects it to be the tamarind paste/salt combination better to avoid it. In the alternative you may seek professional analysis of your blood make-up to identify what to eat and not to eat. Easiest part is to watch what you eat, the world is full of choices but choose carefully and read the back of labels to identify the constituents of foods. Ripe tamarinds contain sugars (35 bis 50%), whose sweet taste is, however, outweighted by up to 20% tartaric acid which has an intensively acidic taste; some cultivars decompose the tartaric acid on ripening (鈥渟weet tamarind鈥? and can be eaten raw as fruit.

Among the volatile, terpenes (limonene, geraniol), phenylpropanoids (safrole, cinnamic acid, ethyl cinnamate), methyl salicylate, pyrazine and alkylthiazoles are reported. Tamarind is from Eastern Africa, but now growing all over the tropics.
I believe the bloating was caused by acidic contents beyond what your body system can bear. In case you are stil wondering, your body was crying out for help and trying to expel the acid, *laughter* so dont go near that food again or identify the exact measure suitable for you or you may explode, *laughter*
Best of luck .

It is certainly not allergy nor intolerance. You just over dosed yourself it seems. Try with a small pea size or just more than that after some days to confirm. If it still upsets you, then you can think it is intolerance and should avoid it. But i am sure that you have little overdosed yourself and nothing else.
