Food Allergy Alert - New 5 Gum a Problem? |
I have been having a problem with a new gum called 5... now it taste great and lasts a while, but since i have been chewing it my throat swells up, i have problems swallowing, i get dizzy, breathing becomes harder, and other symptoms resembling an anxiety attack... now i m not 100% sure its the gum, but its the only change in my diet lately and i cant think of anything else that would cause a problem like this...i doubt its the phenylalanine, cause most gums contain that and i have never had a problem with it before...it may or may not be the soy lecithin...has anyone else had a problem with this gum? has anyone had an allergy or problem similar to this? but its been happening for a week or so...should i be concerned? You have an allergy to one or more ingredients in the gum. It may be the gum base, the artificial flavorings, etc. stop chewing the gum for a week, and see if your symptoms improve. What ever you have put in your mouth with-in a previous time period of an hour or less, don't do it again. Your had a warning and each time you ingest this again it will get worse. This is called an anaphylactic shock. |
