I've developed a food allergy. Is there anyway to eliminate it?

I've suddenly become allergic to avocados, a food I've always enjoyed.

Is there anything that can be done so I'm not allergic to it?

I had developed a wheat allergy a few years ago. I went an entire year not eating even a little bit of gluten. After the year was up I gradually added small amounts into my diet and as of right now I am doing fine eating wheat as long as it isn't in massive amounts.
I can't guarantee that will work for everything but it worked for me.

Sorry, but not at the moment.

However, if you figure something out- you will become extremely wealthy and famous. Especially if you can cure the peanut allergy.

oh, man idk, but they say food allergies can be ''managed'' by avoiding the food, but not cured
some doctors try ''desensitization'' techniques, but they're not a given

I doubt that something can be done...that would stink, getting allergic to a food you love, I'd hate it if I became allergic to peaches! :(

I know that there are shots and pills for people with allergies to animals, and I know there are some pills for those who are lactose intolerant. Perhaps you can ask your physician if there's any sort of medication for those allergic to avocados. Or, if your reaction to avocados is not severe, you could, instead of eating avocados pure, just enjoy them in guacamole.
