Has anyone had a allergic reaction to MSG a food additive?

I am allergic to MSG. One of the first symptoms I have is a bloated feeling which starts a few minutes after I start eating. Then my fingers and feet start to swell, my mouth becomes very dry. A short while later my face and eyes start to swell and I get a headache. Once the headache starts, I become very, very sleepy. I usually have to hurry home and get in bed. I sleep 12-15 hours straight after eating a meal containing MSG. I wake up with a terrible migraine which lasts 3-5 days.

I have had 3 such attacks. I try to stay away from restaurants, especially Chinese buffets.

a friend of my husband gets severe migranes any time he eats any thing with MSG.

MSG is very common food allergen.
