Why is food enriched in United States? |
I don't understand why, even the simplest things, as flour, pasta, rice, meat or milk... contains antibiotics and additives. Is there a reason (historical, economical, political, medical...)? Well. I could go on and on and on about this one! HAHA, but seriously, the reason they enrich so much food is because to make it "taste" good they need to refine everything. When you refine flour, you take out all the fiber and vitamins. There was research that was printed in the 50's about canned foods and processed foods that not even mice could live off that stuff...yet we eat it and are totally riddled with diseases. There isnt enough vitamins in food no matter what anyone says. They reuse the soils over and over again without letting it rest to get nutrients again, so they have to add synthetic ones. It's all about money, and some additives are actually addicting and make you eat more. Some additives make you gain weight. It's a very interesting industry. Did you know there is no possible way that there are enough apples growing on this planet to make the amount of apple juice sold? Its a TINY bit of apple juice with a bunch of sugar water. I eat the way nature made food...not the way man did. And I lost 54 lbs doing that! See my before and after pic here http://www.healthandstrength.net because we think we're so smart and can make everything better... and because an average american diet probably doesn't consist of enough nutriets...so they get added in.... i think the focus should just be more on a well rounded diet...but i don't make the food... and i still eat junk food... The reason is that we use refined and "polished" grains that have been stripped of their nutrients. They strip the bran off of wheat and rice and then fortify it with vitamin e. The reason they strip these things is so that they will have a longer shelf life. The large corporations want foods that they can ship long distances and leave on the shelf for a long time. Whole grains contain essential oils that will go rancid quickly. Interestingly enough, the further we get from a whole grain diet the more health problems we have. It's so we'll all get fat, and our fat will be preserved, it will be nearly impossible to lose the weight, we'll be obese, our arteries will clog, we'll have high cholesterol, leg cramps, trouble sleeping, allergies, our kids will all have ADHD, mental problems, allergies and the pharmaceutical companies will have miracle drugs to CURE whatever ails us! Our bodies will eventually forget how to function without the drugs and we will all die. |
