Good question! Recurrent folliculitis is a common and aggravating problem. The most usual reason for it to recur is that it never left in the first place! Most people have little "nests" of the bacteria under their fingernails and especially in the nasal passages. It is easy to re-infect your skin after one lesion resolves. Talk to your doctor about the many ways to eradicate the bacterial nests from their hidden locations! Good luck! You will get better!
