I've had these itchy red bumps for months!! Help?!?

In October I started to notice that I was really itchy and that I had this small bumps..In December I finally decided to go to the doctor cause one of my friends told me that he had scabies..So, I went to the doctor and she said she didn't think it was scabies ( don't have them on my fingers or other typical scabies places) but I asked her if I could have the cream anyway..I applied that and felt better for a while. But im February I started getting itchy again. These bumps are mostly on my legs and arms and somtimes they come in cluster..They are very itchy..and I'm guessing they are red (dark skin) but they are itchy..I have scabs all over my legs and arms from where these bumps are..I have checked for bed bugs and have found no evidence of that..and everything I have read on folliculitis says that it goes away in two weeks..this has been 9 months...I know everyone will say go to the doc. I am going to go, but was just wondering if anyone MIGHT know what it is...

Yes, I do have a cat, but it's not fleas cause this problem started before the cat and I have checked her and she is fine..

They don't really look like bug bites..It's hard to explain, but sometimes I get them in clusters like 8 bumps in one small area..and i haven't changed anything about my detergents..this has been like 9 months..I am just going to have to break down and go to the doctor..I don't have insurance but I can't take the itching anymore...

Sounds very much like chronic urticaria - CU - (hives lasting longer than 6 weeks). CU is rarely due to allergy; in fact in the majority of cases it is an autoimmune condition. Visit www.chronichives.com for more information.

Herpes

Herpes

CHICKEN POX lol jk

i knew a guy who never showered lol got like ugly redish bumpy skin. other than that i have no idea

Possibly glutate Psoriasis

Possibly an allergic reaction. Have you recently changed soaps or started using a new lotion?

Do you have a dog or a cat that goes outside? If so, check them for fleas. Sounds like when I got my kittens, they came complete w/fleas and I had simular bites.

It could be an allergic reaction to soap, lotion, powder, detergent....

ask the docter for cortizone cream. it burns but it will work.

I had the same problem many years ago. The doctors couldn't figure it out. It lasted for months and I had the same symptoms as you. As a last resort they told me to rub lice shampoo into my skin like a lotion three times a day. It cleared up in only a few weeks and has never happened again. (I think it was dust mites or something like that) I hope this helps.

Could be a form of excema or an allergic reaction to detergent or fabric softeners. Try using a mild soap instead of detergent and cut your fabric softener sheets into 4 strips. That way they will do what they're meant to do, (reduce static electricity) and not affect your skin. I was the same as you about 24 years ago and I made these 2 changes and it worked. I also occassionally use Cortisone cream (1%). But go to a doctor, after all it's not rocket science that anyone would suggest that you do. And do change detergent. Try using less as well. Something like half the amount. It's nothing but harsh chemicals anyway.

Im almost sure you have Atopic Dermatitis. Another word for Eczema. My girlfriend had it. Red itchy rashes or bumps behind your knee or pretty much anywhere in your body. Itching is intense. Doctors have a hard time finding out what it is. The doctor told my girlfriend that it was scabies but it wasnt. Scabies is really contagious but you can tell if you have scabies. Scabies are little parasites that live under your skin. Doctors prescribe Acticin when you have scabies. Go see a dermatologist. If you have eczema, they will prescribe you Elidel cream which works excellent.

i'm no doctor but it sounds like impetigo, i will give you something to try, go to a livestock feed store like Blue Seal or some place like that and get this stuff called " bag balm ' when i was little i had impetigo for four months and every cream the doctor gave me didn't work it would work a little but then my father bought some bag balm and it went away in like three days, i was so happy, in the old days they used to put it on cows to releve bug bites and poison ivy, and its only like three or five bucks for a can of it, it comes in a little green square tin can with a picture of a cow on it, i hope it works for you i know that rashes suck, good luck tell me how it goes

I had something similar happen a few years ago. The doctor said it was hives and that it was coming from the inside. Whatever was causing the hives ...which was an allergic reaction..was comin from the inside. it turned out it was honey. look at the things you maybe have eaten..or even if you have changed laundry soap. depending on what it is, it could be an allergic reaction. On top of that, if your doctor couldn't diagnose your problem, I suggest you find a new one.

See a dermatologist. They specialize in skin diseases. Don't waste your time and money on anyone else.
You could have Lichen Planus, which can occur like you are describing, and itches intensly. You could also possibly have Candida. But, you need to see a dermatologist. Obviously, this isn't going to go away by itself, right?

I'm clueless, try going to a different doctor,
