Folic acid?

I have been taking Folic Acid for a few days now as hubby and I trying to conceive, I have just started my period and the pain is horrendous! Could the Folic Acid cause this?

NO

folic acid is completely safe and is recommended if you are trying to become pregnant. The recommended dose is 400mcg a day.

continue to take it.

It can help to prevent foetal abnormalities and anaemia.

If you have had an abnormal baby previously then a much higher dose is recommended. This again illustrates the safety of the standard dose

good luck Report It

No it won't be the folic acid that caused that ma'am
It'll be just a coincidence
Keep taking it as it's very important for the development of the baby in the early stages

Not unless you are exceeding the recommended dose, which I believe is 400 micrograms. That is 0.4 milligrams or 0.0004 grams.

Taking folic acid is a good step. As for the pain, it cant be caused by folic acid. Consult with your doctor.
