Does folic acid really help dissolve homocysteine?

There are conflicting reports about folic acid's benefits to those who take it. For instance, its ability to dissolve homocysteine? Some pharmacologists think the jury is still out on this one. Others say it is already a documented fact. Can someone help me with this one, please? Also is the ideal dosage for men 400 micrograms? Grateful for right answers.

Hi, If you will take a top quality Sublingual B12 w/B6 & Folic Acid I am sure your problems will be answered. Be sure it is a Sublingual tablet you can dissolve under your tongue.

Quoted Info:
When there is too much homocysteine in the blood, arteries are damaged and plaques form. The result is arteriosclerosis and heart disease. This happens when we don鈥檛 get enough of certain vitamins鈥攏amely B-6, B-12, and folic acid. These B vitamins are missing in our diets because processing and refining foods (think white flour, sugar, and canning) destroys these sensitive vitamins.鈥?The Heart Revolution by Kilmer S. McCully, M.D,

The British Medical Journal as well as the American Heart Association have both reported on studies linking optimal levels of Folic Acid and Vitamin B12 to significantly reduced homocysteine levels.

A study in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition stresses the importance of the B Vitamins Folic Acid, Vitamin B12 and Vitamin B6 in the normal functioning of our brains. This particular study even links a deficiency of these vitamins to a cognitive decline in our later years leading to Alzheimer's Disease.

鈥淚mprovement of cognitive functions after B12/folic acid supplementation in elderly patients with dementia and elevated plasma homocysteine.鈥?Published in the International Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry Karin Nilsson, et. al.

The American Heart Association strongly advises patients at high risk for heart disease 鈥渢o be sure to get enough folic acid and vitamins B-6 and B-12 in their diet."

For years, doctors have used B-12 injections to treat chronic fatigue.

good Luck,
