Folic acid- iron + Constipation? |
I use (Folic Acid-iron) medication beacuse I have low Hb level and the dr. said to me to stop taking it if I have constipation ,, when I took it I feel better but the first tablet i took i have the constipation,, when I stop taking it I do not feel well specially in breathing. If you really feel that much better on the iron/folic acid, take a mild stool softener like Docusate or colace to help with the constipation. A stool softener will not give you the cramps or change your urge to stool like a laxative will. (A laxative is an irritant to your bowels and causes you to stool. The softener just makes your stool soft but doesn't cause the irriation.) |
