What is the difference between folate and folic acid? |
Just wondering. Folate, also referred to as folic acid or folacin, this vitamin B complex is converted into enzymes that the body needs to make DNA, RNA and red blood cells, and to carry out other important metabolic functions. There is no difference. It's just two different names for Vitamin B-9. They're the same thing. Folate is the anion version of folic acid but either way they're both the water soluable version of vitamin B9. Yeah what they said. I just know it's good from brain development in babies. |
