Has anybody heard of using vitamin B and folate to prevent Migraines?

This has just been released in Australia.
I'd be interested to know if anybody has tried this.
I'm a Migraine with Aura sufferer.

There is a new development in migraine therapy:

try it neither one will hurt you... recent studies have shown that migranes can be caused by a lack of certain vitamins... definately give it a try

Lots of people talk about Migraine prevention. In fact if you google "migraine prevention" you will come up with lots of sites including the following organization:

and the following places that tout their remedies:

As long as you are not pregnant you could try doses of B2 (riboflavin) which is generally not harmful as excesses are flushed through the kidneys. Be sure to drink lots of water.

Here is an article on B2 therapy for migraines:

I'm a student majoring in nutrition. I've never heard of this but i'm interested. Do you have an article about it. Maybe I could tell you what I think of it.

Generally, the B vitamins help in metabolizing carbs, fat, and protein. They help get the fuel from the foods you eat. Folate helps synthesize DNA and prevent birth defects. If you want to increase your intake of folate, you can find it in leafy vegetables, avocados, beans, oranges/orange juice, or lentils. Just keep in mind that the heat from cooking, can destroy the folate, so you're better off eating it uncooked. You can find Vitamin B in pork, whole grains, legumes, sunflower seeds, and watermelon.
