Ionic v molecular nutrients?

I was wondering if there is a significant鈥攐r any鈥攄ifference between ionic and molecular forms of nutrients. Is there no difference? Is there a general rule? Does it depend on the nutrient? I am talking about, for instance folate vs. folic acid, ascorbate vs. ascorbic acid, stearate vs. stearic acid.

This is a complex question, in that it may or may not have been studied. I would suggest checking www.eatright.org and shooting an email to a registered dietitian, or even calling your local university and asking a dietitian, they will definetly be able to help you.
