Fluid leaking out of ears? |
im a 26 yr old female and had my first ear infection since i have no idea when. I went to the doc on mon. i was unable to hear out of my right ear and my left ear was fine. i was also very congested. now i have started to leak fluid from my right ear and last night my other ear that wasnt hurting is leaking fluid too. now i can barely hear out of either ear. how long will this last????? the meds are guai/phen and amox-clav i take them twice a day It is not really uncommon to have fluid leakage with a bad ear infection. You would need to really understand the middle ear. When you get an ear infection it is due to fluid buildup behind the tympanic membrane that is not allowed to drain through the eustacian tube. You have a warm, moist spot for bacteria to thrive. It is this fluid that you are seeing. It is possible that your tympanic membrane has been perforated. This will heal on its own and your hearing will return to normal. You need to go back to the doc in the morning and get your ears rechecked as it sounds like you have may have more problems than just an ear infection. Call the doc in the morning and get this checked out. What are the names of the medications that the doctor put you on? You have a bacterial infection, go to your doctor and everything will be fine. |
