Brake fluid?

i think that someone has squirted brake fluid all over my door.
What colour is brake fluid, does it have a smell, and is it bad too breath in the fumes, does it irritate the skin.

Brake fluid is a clear/amber color. Sometimes it's clear like water almost. It does have a smell, it smells almost like paint thinner but not really. Open up the brake reservoir of your car and smell it, it's under the hood.

It's not bad to breath in the fumes so long as you don't breath heavily and get some of that oil inside your nose. It does irritate the skin and it drys out the skin if you don't wash up right away.

Brake fluid erodes the paint. It's acidic.
