It's likely not what you want to hear, but if you had perforations, you should not put anything in your ears that is not specifically prescribed for you. You may have lingering infection, not just "fluid" or may have formed little pockets called seromas. Allergies could be adding to your discomfort as well as many other things. Any of these needs medical attention.

One thing you need to know is that you should not just keep taking a medicine that is not working and not say anything. A doctor really should tell you "If you are not better in__ days, call me or come back in" but if they don't, at the end of your visit you need to learn to ask.

Always ask how soon you should expect improvement and exactly what you should do if you get worse or fail to improve. Ask it that way, "What should I do if I get worse? What things should make me call you and what would be dangerous to have happen?"

Write down any problems you have been having and all questions you have and always take this to your doctor visits. Whether you can pay for yourself right now or not, you should still get good care, and you can do your part by better communications with your doctor. They really can't read minds, and taking a whole bottle of medicine and never saying it wasn't helping may have had your doctor thinking you were doing well. Doctors need all the facts to do their best job.

Call that doctor!!!

Insurance or not you need to see an ENT doc. If you do not get this taken care of you can wind up losing your hearing. I have been hard of hearing since childhood as I had fluid in my ears post measles that they couldn't get rid of with antibiotics nor tubes in my ears twice. This is not a time to be messing with a GP. See an ENT doc and get this treated.

drop or 2 of everclear!!!!!works ear DR had me do it...

It sounds like if your eardrums are perforated that you need to have PE tubes put in to keep the fluid out of your ears. I would ask your doctor when you go if there are other options besides topical medicines to help cure this. Also check out webmd.com for more information on what you can do to help this. Hope you feel better soon!

Have you tried ear candles? You can get these from the health food store. You light these on fire and they cause a heat vacuum. They are inexpensive. You may want to give them a try.

ooh and what James said as well. Alcohol might dry them up good. If you don't have everclear just try rubbing alcohol.

IF you have perforated ear drums then you have had an infection inside of them that coased then to burst. YOU NEED TO SEE A DOCTOR THAT SPEACLIZED IN EARS NOSE AND THROATS.
please try and find the money from somewhere to go to see one.

most docs only cost like 100 bucks and u may be able to make payments, this recently happened to me and i had my ears flushed

Try gargling some salt water and it could be related to your sinuses so an air treatment device might be in order. I have had the same problems. Doing this in conjunction with taking the doctors meds seems to be making me stable.

Go to the drug store & buy SWIM EAR.

Could someone help you pay for at least one visit with an ENT doctor? You can call a hospital for a recommendation. Do you have a dog or cat in the house that sheds? This can make fluid problems in the ear worse from allergies. Maybe they could give you Allegra. Good luck!

You CAN NOT self treat this problem. It requires a specialist .
My son has had the same problem all of his life. The solution the nose, throat, and ear, specialist did was to put him in (one day surgery) make a hole in his ear drum, and put a plastic tube into the ear drum into the middle ear. This allows the fluid to drain out. One great precaution,be very, very, very careful to NOT allow any water to get into your ear.
