Can lymph fluid collect and leak through a wound.?

After surgery I had a burst bowel. It has healed but one spot builds up a pus like substance and breaks open. It drains a week or so and closes, but opens again within a couple weeks. My lymph nodes are swollen in that area and I wondered if the fluid collection could be lymph fluid.
