Anything worrying with umbilical fluid of my son?

My son (16+) is having fluids from his Umbilicus. We know that he smoke sometimes. Even if we told him not to smoke he did not controlled. I want to if there is anything worrying about the fluids coming out of his umbilicus (belly button). We have consulted the matter with physicians but they are saying it could be due to some boil like inside the umbilical and prescribed some anti-biotics. for few days, the fluid dissapeared but recently the problem relapsed. Please help,

its a local infection,or a reopening of a congenital remanent sinus ..antibiotics are usually prescribed to stop any infection ,if it remains, surgical exploration of sinus or fistula

Do these fluids look like pus? And have foul smell? If so, the docs are probably right - they are like boils. Boils are filled with staph and should be treated as such, with antibiotics. Contact the doc and have him refill the antibiotics and use an antibiotic ointment, such as Bacitracin. Also, have your son wash the umbilicus really well.
