Fluid in my lungs after I Sprint??

I sprinted about 3 blocks to catch a bus today and afterwards I was breathing funny, like old men breath. and then I was coughing like I had a cold and had fluid in my lungs!! I do have poor cardio fitness because I only lift weights as opposed to doing cardio. Is this normal?

sounds like you might have exertional asthma, which is a type of asthma that only occurs when you over exert yourself, such as a hard sprint without warming up first. If you dont do much cardiovascular exercise, you are more likely to get it. It is also more prevalent when it is cold outside

It is not really a build up of fluid in your lungs, it is an irritation in the lining and constriction of the alveoli ( air sacs in the lungs) ore mucous is produced as your body attempts to reduce the irritation and that is why it feels as though you have a build up of fluid.

You might have asthma.
