Fluid in stomache?

A friend of mine had a gallstone attached to her liver when it was removed too much of her liver was taken with it.
Her stomache keeps swelling with fluid and she returns to hospital every month, for them to drain it out she looks weak and fragile, what can she do to build herself up?

Her doctor can prescribe prescription only drinks which are good, but it really depends on her situation, so best to ask her doctor.
