Relapsing Flu, monthly?

I have been suffering every month or so since February of flu-like symptoms. Body-ache, fatigue, fever, chills, general malaise... no vomiting or diarrhea.

It hits for about 3-5 days, and I take Alka-seltzer/ Vick's Flu medication to ease the symptoms... They work well, but I cannot afford to have this happening every month-- I cannot function due to the intense weakness.

I've gone to a doctor and he basically dismissed the fact that it is relapsing and said "you have the flu," and sent me on my way with nausea medicine (and yet I do not vomit).

I intend to go to another physician, but does anyone have any idea of what this could be? Has anyone else experienced monthly flu symptoms? I will say that the most recent flu-experience was the mildest.

Thanks for any help, information and advice.

You may want to get a second opinion for symptoms that have gone on for so long.

It sounds like your body is run down and not ever really recovering from what made you sick in the first place. This is a sign of a weak immune system and could be due to stress, poor diet, lack of exercise, environmental factors or others.

You need a good immune supplement. My family takes Immune Alert and swears by it. The active ingredient beta glucan (a yeast extract) has been proven in tons of research to be effective if helping the body fight off germs and stay healthy. My family is a great example. Since we've been taking it we are rarely sick and when we do get sick the symptoms are mild and pass quickly. Our son started day care this year and will all the snotties there it is incredible how healthy he's been.

Go to www.immunealert.com and have them send you a free sample -- I know you'll be happy you did.

Sounds like your immune system is very weak and you are picking up every bug that is going around. Be sure to take a good multivitamin that is well absorbed by your body every day and a good antioxidant supplement to boost your immune system. Get plenty of rest and eat a healthy diet with high protein snacks between meals. Watch the meds you are taking so that you are not getting to much of one med since you said you use Alka seltzer and vicks flu medication. Wash your hands often and use a good air purifier at home. Also consider getting rid of your toxic cleaning and laundry products and replace them with all natural ones as that could be part of the problem since most are registered pesticides. Also have someone come in that checks for mold in the home as you may have a mold problem somewhere and also have some check your heating and cooling units to be sure that isn't part of the problem.

Okay what blood tests have you had? If this has gone on since Feb you do not have the flu. Have you been tested for Mono? West Nile? Legonairre's?? You need another doctor for sure and you must make sure the new one knows your medical history AND that you have had this since Feb. Good luck and do it soon!!!

dont wait for the flu to get longer in yout systems. consult your
doctor at once
