Flu or not?

I have been ill for about 5 days now and i seem to be getting worse. Everyone else i live with has exactly the same thing, it seems to be flu but non of us has anykind of cough or chest problems. Symptoms are extremely painful sore throat, dizziness, slight headache, difficult swallowing solids, tiredness, fever, chills, sweating, swollen lymph glands, stiff neck, earache, conjestion and stuffy nose but not runny nose or sneezing like flu. Non of us have any kind of rash so we are not sure to go to doctors now or wait a few days. does anyone have any idea if it could be anything other than flu. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

it no longer matters cuz you are past the recommended date for treatment. use advil/tylenol and drink lots of fluids. get a flu shot and wash your hands better.

It is NOT flu! It is a cold. Flu is a serious illness that people with a weakened immune system can die from. If you had flu you would be in bed,, you would fell too ill to be using the Internet that is for sure! A cold can make you fell quite ill, but rest is all you need. I get quite annoyed when people say they have flu when it is a cold. I have had flu only once. I was in bed for 3 weeks which is normal with flu. I felt as though I was dying! Drink plenty of fluids excluding booze! Rest and let the illness run its course.
