Flu Season ?

It,s flu season and last year i got it bad how can i prevent myself from getting sick. And how can i keep myself healthy if someone in my household gets it ? And do flu shots work i heard that they give u the flu after u get them .

Flu shots do work. I get one every year. One year I did miss getting one as I had a nasty virus when they were giving them at my local clinic. I was miserable and lost a whole month of work. Every fall since I make sure I stay well enuff to get that vacine, and I haven't had the flu. No, you can't get the flu from the shot. I asked my doc about that.

If someone in your family gets sick, stay away from that person as much as possible. If you must be near him/her, wear a dust mask. The paper kind you can get at the drugstore or hardware store. Wash your hands often and especially after handling anything that the sick person has touched. Keep your hands and fingers out of your mouth and away from your face/eyes. EVen better would be to stock up on those disposable gloves like nurses wear. Your can get them at Walgreen's pharmacy. they aren't expensive and come in a box of 50, 75, or 100.

Especially at this time of year, it's important to eat properly, take a multivitamin, and an extra vitamin C(you can get chewable), drink lots of water and limit your sodas and alcohol. Some people take zinc(I have an allergy to it, so it's out for me) and get lots of rest/sleep. Good luck to you, stay well, and drive carefully!
