Cold/flu and asthma...?

I'm just getting over the stuffed head aspect of my flu, and now everything is movind down into my chest. Wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have mild asthma. Just because of that small fact, I can end up coughing fitfully for weeks on end. So now I have 2 questions...

1. How can I treat the asthma without having to take meds...
2. Am I still flu contagious after I stop all other symptoms of flu? (except for the nasty cough... The only reason I tire easily is because I do so much of it and run out of breath...)

Because I have asthma I can't take OTC cough meds (because they could mask an asthma attack). I've run out of asthma meds, and can't afford new ones. Is there something that I can do to ease my breathing? Thanks!

well the answer # 1
slowly work on a breathing theorpy but its not hard
just sit somewhere and take a glass of water drink some of it then breeth in slowly
it helps control some of the constricting of the chest.

2, yes but not as bad as it was when you had the flu.

Yes, with asthma, colds will move right down into your chest. I have it, too, and it is very difficult.

I hate to say it, but is there any way you can get some more asthma meds? I have found that using my albuterol inhaler (with a spacer, if you can get one) is the best way to cope with this kind of a problem. The more I use it, the better I can clear my lungs.

Ricola cough drops are good for a coughing attack, but the effect doesn't last long. Cold air and talking a lot can trigger coughing, so avoid those. Getting a lot of rest seems to help, too.

I hope you feel better soon.

I suggest you quickly go to a doctor!
Take a look at this ..it will help you a lot!

He made a great thing anyway designing a site to help others in the same condition as him.

Have you tried eliminating dairy from your diet? I suffered my whole life with asthma until I stopped consuming dairy and started taking small doses of natural ephedrine...this is the one I use:

Also...explore this website:

The first step is BELIEVING that you can and will be well...that you do not NEED meds for the rest of your life...and that you WILL breathe normally again!!!

You'll see!!

I'm very healthy now and there was a time when I could barely get up a flight of stairs without losing my breath....the toxins in dairy are a direct link to breathing problems...also a lack of sunlight and dependency on meds only makes matters worse.

I wish you the BEST !!!!!!!
