Cold or flu?

I got my flu shot. However, after spending time with my boyfriend, he came down with a cold/flu like illness. Soon after, I woke up one morning, threw up, and had diarrhea. I then developed a sore throat. By that night I developed a very bad dry raspy cough. I was up practically the whole night with my throat and the cough keeping me up.

The next day I felt fluey in the morning, but pretty much okay in the afternoon, except for my throat and cough. I did not have any nasal symptoms yet. However, I had an on and off low grade fever (highest point that day 100.8) That night, my nose started getting stuffy/runny, and my mucus became very yellow.

The next day, I felt AWFUL. Totally zapped of energy, coughing up a storm, and my nose was sooo bad. I had no voice, throat still hurt. That night my temp started to rise quicky, got to 101, and I took tylonal, which brought it down.

I am starting to feel a bit better today. Still coughing, but no fever. Some sneezing. Flu? Cold? Which?

It's too bad you didn't provide more detail as to how time elapsed between the vax and your first symptoms. When you got the flu vax, you may already have had the virus. My guess is you have influenza.

Cough is caused by a number of ailments.
It can be treated by over the counter medicines
or home remedies. More information available
