Can the Flu Cause this ??

Ive been feeling extreme tirdness and hardly can get outta bed...and ive been getting chills alot and today my face is really achy and sore...it kinda sounds like the flu starting?? Can the flu cause your period to be late?? My period is 12 days late and I thought maybe im getting the flu and that could be why ?
