Floater in eye...?

I just started seeing a "floater" in my eye tonight and it's not going away. It's like I just looked at a lightbulb and then looked away. It's like a whitish-silver color and is only in my right eye.

The floaters that you see in your eye, is dead cells. There is nothing to worry about and they will go away. I have seen the floaters also and I ask my eye doctor, that was his answer. Hope it helps.

Floaters are normal.

Does it move when you move your eye? Is there pain? Did you look at something bright today?

If it persists and you're concerned, see your eye doctor.

i get those before i get cluster headaches women get the same symptoms before the get a migrane, you might get nausea along with it

Floaters are nothing to worry about. My grandma started seeing floaters a few weeks ago and now she's blind. She says it had nothing to do with the floaters

I see floaters all the time...and I mean all the time. I've got all kinds of eye problems and I can understand how annoyed you are. One way to shake a floater is to move your eye left to right and up and down rapidly for a few times. This will generally shake it loose.

What you describe, though, doesn't really sounds like a floater to me. I'm not sure of your medical history, but if you're a diabetic or have circulatory problems you may have a broken blood vessel in your eye. I believe it's called retinopathy...but don't quote me on that. If it gets worse (i.e. bigger) you should see a doctor immediately.

My mom had those and ended up with a blinding disease -- Macular degenerated retina. Go see an ophthalmologist ASAP, not just an ordinary optometrist. An ophthalmologist is trained to look for eye diseases. Or you could just go to a retina specialist depending on what health insurance you have. You might need to get a referral from the ophthalmologist to make sure your visit to the retina specialist is covered. Be careful and make sure you go to a good one your eyes are nothing to fool around with. This disease can progress rapidly and there is NO CURE. So prevention and early diagnosis are key.
