You need to see an eye doctor right away. Once your eye is better, perhaps your spelling will improve!

Sudden appearance of floaters in the visual field could be retinal detachment. It has been described as a "curtain coming down". Does this sound like your experience? In any case, you must see an eye doctor (ophthalmologist) right away -- better yet, go to the ER.

If the number and density of floaters is much less than the other answerer cautioned might be an indicator of retinal detachment (a *very* serious condition), but is instead just a handful of noticeable specks/streaks/amoeba-like things that move around in your visual field, then I wouldn't worry too much about it. They are quite common, especially in blue-eyed people. Ask your optometrist about them at your next eye exam. Even though they're a little weird, you'll find that you hardly ever actually notice them after an initial period of novelty -- and you might as well get used to them: you'll have 'em the rest of your life.
