Removal of floater in eyes? |
Removal of floater in eyes? Floaters are natural. They are caused by pierces of the Endotheliem breaking off and floating in the Vitreous Humor. You should make an appointment with an optometrist to get it checked out. It's not anything to worry about necessarily but I think they give you medication for it. Anyway they will know how to treat it. Floaters are common in people with astigmatic myopia. I have them. They're annoying but harmless. I've heard removing them is useless, because they recur. You learn to ignore them most of the time. use VITREOLENT eye drops 3x daily for 2 weeks. if there is no relief, consult your ophthalmologist. http://www.emedihub.com/profile.php?pid=... ask your dr. Depending on how annoying these floaters are, I would chance to say to try to ignore them. If they have just suddenly appeared, I would consult a specialist as it could be a sign of detachment of the retina. Are you seeing flashes of light from time to time? That is a clear sign of detachment or at least some kind of problem within the eye itself. I had spontaneous detachment of the retinas in both eyes. For me there was not much warning. The reason for the detachment is unclear except for my age at the time. As we get older, the vitreous fluid in our eyes congels but remains attached to the inside of the eye (the retina) until such time that it spontaneously pulls away from a part of the eye and takes a portion of the retina with it. In my case, I saw a sudden flash of light while cooking dinner one evening. I gradually began to lose sight in the eye and within twenty-four hours I was blind in the eye. I tell you this to let you know this could be serious and you should have it checked as soon as possible. Do not let the doctors receptionist put you off. There is only a certain amount of time the retina remains receptive to the surgery which is done to correct the problem. I hope what is happening in your eye is not what I have stated above, but know that if it is, and it is caught early enough, your signt should return. Maybe not to normal, but you will be able to see. I am fortunate. I am able to read with help and drive as well. Good luck to you. Now get busy and find a specialist. Hipefull is pretty right on. 99.9% of the time you have to live with the floater. They are annoying, but the surgery to remove it is not fun. The only reason that the floater would be removed is if there was something else going on like a retinal detachment. Removing the floater requires removing the jelly from the back of your eye and inserting a gas to fill the space while your eye makes fluid to fill up the empty space. |
