Cousin who has floaters in both of his eyes?

My cousin has been having a lot of floaters in his eyes lately.
Floaters are little black spots (or cobwebs) that float around your eye. If course, if you didn't know that, you can't answer this question.
My cousin is only 13 years old, and he says he has about 10 diffrent floaters, 15 if he squints his eyes.
He said that he got since he was 12, and floaters have been increasing by then.
He has bad vision (400/400 about, I think).
His sight also decreases more than other kids; because of his genetics (takes from his mom's side)
Please tell me if this is bad, or a bad sign, and what he should do.
Please answer, thanks!

Hopefully your cousin is currently seeing an eye doctor for glasses. He should be having a dilated eye exam every year to make sure that the floaters aren't a sign of something more serious going on in his eyes. Floaters are usually nothing to worry about, but 12 is a pretty young age to start having them. (They're caused by an age-related breakdown of the gel in the back of the eye.)

Get a doctor to check them out.
They could be migraine aura.
I have migraine aura, that makes my vision temporarely bad, and makes me see clolors, floaters, squiggly lines, sensitive to light, and left side numbless. Its different with everybody.
